Ms. Young, a Florida native, graduated magna cum laude from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy. Subsequently, she earned her law degree from the University of Florida College of Law.
After completing law school, Ms. Young dedicated twenty-three years of service to the Public Defender’s Office, 4th Judicial Circuit of Florida. As an assistant public defender, Ms. Young battled to guard and protect the constitutional rights of the indigent to ensure that they were afforded the panoply of rights and liberties guaranteed by both the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Florida. During her tenure as an assistant public defender, Ms. Young handled the full spectrum of criminal cases.
In opening the doors to private practice, Ms. Young continues the battle for
equality, fairness and justice, not their illusions.
